De una palabra a la otra
lo que digo se desvanece.
Yo sé que estoy vivo
entre dos paréntesis.

From one word to the other
what I say vanishes.
I know that I am alive
between two parentheses.

From Certeza (Certainty) by Octavio Paz (1961)
Given the fateful and frightening political climate we are witnessing today, it seems particularly fitting that this year's edition of Museo focuses on questions of impermanence. To accept, understand and embrace the vulnerability, fragility and transience at the core of our existence is an enormous challenge, and one that artists are constantly exploring. The art works featured in this publication all implicitly address notions of impermanence, either in content or form, or both. Some are playful, others profoundly serious. It is by grasping the transitory nature of our lives that we may learn not to take anything for granted.
