Columbia Enters New Millennium Without Y2K Systems Problems

Columbia entered the new millennium without Y2K-related computer system problems. All systems are operational and will be checked carefully as the University enters the first work week of the new year. All indications are that things should continue to function normally.

The University's e-mail system, the CU Web, and the CU Network are running normally as are all University power and utility systems. All buildings have heat, electricity, water and elevator service. All telephone systems are working.

Student services, administrative services and the libraries reopened today, and academic computer functions such as on-line course registration have also resumed.
