LDEO Open House: Earth Science from Local Dinosaurs to the Origins of Earthquakes

An Open House on Saturday, October 7th, at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, New York, will explore the many wonders of Earth Science, including:

  • the origins and predictability of earthquakes
  • the life of dinosaurs in New York and New Jersey
  • the uses of seismology
  • the effects of El Niño and La Niña
  • the results of global climate change
  • the stories embedded in tree rings, corals and deep-sea sediment cores
  • the condition of the Hudson River
  • and other timely, engaging issues.

Route 9W, Palisades, NY at the NY-NJ state line
(Exit 4, Palisades Parkway)
Park at IBM Executive Conference Center; 1.4 miles north of Lamont on
