Reese, Lions Run Over Lafayette to Move to .500

Junior tailback Johnathan Reese rambled for a career-high 201 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Columbia to a 47-22 win over Lafayette on Saturday afternoon at Wien Stadium. The point total was the Lions' best since 1961, when they defeated Brown 50-0. The win evens Columbia's record at 2-2. Lafayette, suffering its third-straight loss, dropped to 1-4

Reese, with 1,641 career rushing yards, moved into second place on Columbia's all-time list. He now trails Lou Kusserow, who ran for 1,992 yards from 1945 to1948. The Lions, who racked up 404 yards of total offense on Saturday, travel to Penn (2-2) on this weekend to take on the Quakers in an Ivy-League match-up.
