Finalists for First Online Journalism Awards Announced by Online News Association and Graduate School of Journalism

The finalists for the inaugural Online Journalism Awards (OJAs) have been announced by the Online News Association (ONA) and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. The contest, which honors excellence in Internet journalism, drew more than 600 entries from over 200 English-language media outlets around the world and was judged by a team of distinguished journalism leaders. ABCNews.com, APBNews, Business Week Online, CNET News.com, MSNBC.com, Salon, TheStreet.com and WSJ.com are finalists in multiple categories. Other finalists include The Albuquerque Tribune, Central Europe Review, DigitalJournalist.org, Rediff.com, Richmond.com, Insure.com and Women.com. The winners will be announced at a luncheon during the first national conference of the Online News Association at the Columbia Journalism School on Friday, Dec. 1, 2000.
