SIPA's Center for Energy, Marine Transportation and Public Policy Sponsors Conference on the Impacts of Oil Spills

Columbia University's Center for Energy, Marine Transportation and Public Policy (http://www.cemtpp.org/) will sponsor a conference on oil-spill response on Thursday, February 22 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., 420 West 118th Street, 15th Floor, in New York City.

Topics to be discussed will include public policy issues surrounding liability and collision; preparedness for oil-spill responses; and what impact oil spills have on the environment.

Participants include Steve Benz, president of the Marine Spill Response Corporation, Steve Touw, Regional Response Team Coordinator for the Environmental Protection Agency and Jim Clark, distinguished scientific associate for the Exxon Mobil Corporation.
