Commenting on the decision to hold this weekend's game, John Reeves, director of physical education/athletics, said, "Our University position is that intercollegiate athletics is part of our educational mission; and, therefore we, in intercollegiate athletics, will be guided by our academic decisions. Just as classes provide a useful structure for students to move forward or, when appropriate, to discuss the recent events, so the practice and playing fields provide a structure that can help us move through this tragedy. "
