Columbia's College Democrats and Republicans are coming together to hold a fundraising dinner and silent auction to benefit the American Red Cross and the Fire Fighters' 9-11 Relief Fund. The event will be held on October 4 from 7:00 –10:00 p.m. in Alfred Lerner Hall.

The organizations are requesting $10 to $15 donations from students and $40 from University faculty and staff. Reservations for tables, half-tables and individual seats may be made by contacting Jessie Daniels at JD405@columbia.edu or DEMS@columbia.edu.

SIPA Dean Lisa Anderson will offer the keynote address. Leading city political figures will also be invited to attend this event.

By coming together themselves, the College Democrats and Republicans hope to underscore the nation's political unity, while expressing gratitude to the NYC Fire Department and concern for the families of the victims of this tragedy.
