As Columbia celebrates the inauguration of Lee C. Bollinger as the 19th President of the University on Thurs., Oct. 3, access to the Morningside Heights campus will be modified until shortly after the conclusion of the 10:00 a.m. Investiture ceremony.
Access and circulation for the inauguration will be in a manner similar to the changes that are put into place for Commencement every year.
College Walk, Low Plaza, and the Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue entrances at 116th Street will be closed Thursday morning until 9:00 a.m. From 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., both entrances will be open to provide access to seating on College Walk and Low Plaza for Investiture ceremony participants only. Immediately following the event, Facilities personnel will begin to clear the area of chairs and full campus access is expected to be restored during the afternoon.
The following information is intended to assist both those who will attend the Investiture and those who will be on campus for other purposes on Thursday:
Admission for faculty, staff and students attending the Investiture ceremony:
