President Bollinger invites the community to observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2003, in memory of those who perished in the September 11 attacks two years ago. The bells of St. Paul's Chapel will toll at 8:46 a.m. and again at 9:03 a.m, a reminder of the sequential impacts of the first and second planes at the World Trade Center. The same hour, Barnard will hold a wreath laying ceremony at the memorial tree on Barnard's Lehman Lawn.
On Wednesday, September 10, at 7:00 p.m., Barnard will host a public forum "Public Sentiments: A Roundtable Reflecting on 9/11" Participants will examine their feelings about September 11 and the impact of the attacks on public policy.
