President Bollinger Invites Community to Share a Moment of Silence in Honor of September 11 Victims

President Bollinger invites the community to observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2003, in memory of those who perished in the September 11 attacks two years ago. The bells of St. Paul's Chapel will toll at 8:46 a.m. and again at 9:03 a.m, a reminder of the sequential impacts of the first and second planes at the World Trade Center. The same hour, Barnard will hold a wreath laying ceremony at the memorial tree on Barnard's Lehman Lawn.

On Wednesday, September 10, at 7:00 p.m., Barnard will host a public forum "Public Sentiments: A Roundtable Reflecting on 9/11" Participants will examine their feelings about September 11 and the impact of the attacks on public policy. The event will take place in the James Room on the 4th floor of Barnard Hall. Click for additional information about this event.
