On Dec. 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Columbia University Bookstore will host a book signing celebrating the publication of a new work created for the Columbia 250 anniversary year. Ashbel Green, CC'50, will sign copies of My Columbia: Reminiscences of University Life, which he edited.
My Columbia is a compilation of essays about the University as seen through the eyes of writers, artists, scholars, scientists and other remarkable Columbians over the last century and a half. Contributors include Michael Pupin, Nicholas Murray Butler, Bennett Cerf, Mark Van Doren, Margaret Mead, Whittaker Chambers, Zora Neale Hurston, Thomas Merton, Jack Kerouac, Jacques Barzun, Norman Podhoretz, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Mary Gordon, Diana Trilling and many others.
This event is free and open to the public. |
