College Walk Construction Starts

On Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, construction activity will commence at both the Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue entrances to College Walk. The project involves the installation of retractable security bollards at all points of entry.

During the first phase of this project, pedestrian access to College Walk will be closed at the center Amsterdam Avenue gate and the north and south gates of the Broadway pedestrian entrances. Vehicular access to College Walk will be available only at the central Broadway entrance. These points of entry will be re-opened during the week of Dec. 20.

The second phase of the project will begin immediately begin after the completion of phase one and will involve the closure of the center Broadway vehicular entrance and the north and south gates of the Amsterdam Avenue pedestrian entrances. Vehicle access will then be restricted to the center Amsterdam Avenue gate.

The anticipated completion date of the project and the return of full access to College Walk is the last week of January 2005.
