CU Takes Security Precautions in Response to London Bombings
A series of bombings earlier today targeted the transit system in
London, England. The University extends its deepest sympathy to the
victims of this act of terrorism and to the City of London as they cope
with this tragedy. We are in the process of reaching out to members of
the Columbia community in the area to offer any necessary assistance.
In response to these events, New York City has increased police presence
at major transportation hubs, including Grand Central and Penn Stations,
bridges and tunnels, and throughout the city's financial district.
Columbia University Public Safety is taking additional precautions to
enhance security, including increased foot and mobile patrols. The
University continues to be in direct conversation with the NYPD and
local Precinct Commanders.
