The Columbia community is invited to participate in a special service to commemorate the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. "A Time of Silence, Prayer, Meditation and Music" will take place on Sunday, Sept. 11. It is co-hosted by the Office of the University Chaplain and the Office of the President.
The bells of St. Paul's Chapel will toll and a moment of silence will be observed at 8:46 a.m. and again at 9:03 a.m., the times of the impacts on the World Trade Center towers.
St. Paul 's Chapel will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 11, 2005. A time of silence, prayer and meditation will be observed from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Music will be performed by the Bach Society Quartet, organists and a piper between 11:30 and 2:45.
