Strike Over - University Ends Transit Contingency Plan
With the strike over, Columbia University has discontinued its emergency transit strike plan. All city buses and trains are running normally, and the University is returning to its regularly scheduled shuttle services, except on University-designated holidays, when limited or no service is available. The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory shuttle is on a holiday schedule through January 2 (no service).
Dec. 28 is considered a normal business day at Columbia. Employees who have not made arrangements for time off are expected to report to work. We thank all students, faculty, staff and Columbia affiliates for their patience during this trying time. Please check the University homepage should there be an unforeseen disruption in transit service as negotiations between the MTA and the Transport Workers Union continue.
