J School New Media Lecture

Nicholas Lemann, dean of Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, cordially invites you to the annual Hearst Foundation New Media Lecture by Dan Gillmor, the 2006 Hearst New Media Lecturer at the Journalism School.

Gillmor, author of We the Media: Grassroots Journalism by the People, for the People, is also director of the Center for Citizen Media, a nonprofit organization for the advancement of grassroots media with a focus on journalism. The center is affiliated with the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University Law School and the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley.

The lecture is a chance to hear about trends in new media and what’s happening in the world of citizen journalism from one of the pioneers of the movement. Please join us at the Journalism School on Thursday, April 27 for a reception, at 6:30 p.m., followed by Gillmor’s lecture at 7:30 p.m. It is open to the public and no RSVP is required.

Previous Hearst New Media Lectures are available online.
