Distinguished Women in Science Lecture

On Tuesday, April 11, the Barnard Center for Research on Woman and the Barnard Department of Biology welcomes Dr. Helene Gayle '76 to discuss the global impact of HIV/AIDS. She will discuss the latest developments around women and HIV/AIDS, her vision for CARE in the 21 st century, and what inspired her to become a doctor and go into public health.

Gayle is the new president and CEO of CARE, an international poverty-fighting organization. She previously spent five years at the Gates Foundation and 20 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The lecture begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Julius Held Lecture Hall, room 304, Barnard Hall.
