Atul A. Gawande, assistant professor of health policy and management at Harvard School of Public Health, will give the keynote address at the College of Physicians & Surgeons Commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m.
Gawande also holds several other appointments. He is assistant professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School and is a general and endocrine surgeon at Brigham and Women's Hospital. In addition to his numerous published works on research, Gawande writes a column for the New England Journal of Medicine and has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1998.
The ceremony will be held in the Columbia University Medical Center Garden on Fort Washington Avenue. The entrance is between West 165 and 168 Streets.
