Columbia Science Connection’s Café Science presents "How Much is Nature Worth?" with Shahid Naeem, chair of the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology (E3B) at Columbia University.
Cafe Science provides an informal venue where people from the greater New York City community can gather to discuss, learn about or debate scientific ideas. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place Aug. 23, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at PicNic Café, 2665 Broadway (between 101st and 102nd Streets), New York City, (212) 222-8222.
On June 28, the University hosted the inaugural Café Science salon featuring Columbia astronomer David Helfand, who led a discussion on intelligent life in the universe. A second salon on July 26 was led by biologist Darcy B. Kelley explaining “How Your Brain Works…Or Not.”
