Music Sampling and Derivative Works in the Digital Era

This panel will explore how recent court decisions have changed the music industry and challenged artists. It will address legal issues facing the music industry, including the creative commons and "copyleft," digital sampling and remixing, and the new orphan works proposal. Please see the attached flyer for more details.

The panel will be moderated by Steve Gordon, author of "The Future of the Music Business."

Directions: Take the 1 train to 116th street. Exit and walk east through the main campus, towards Amsterdam Ave. The entrance to Jerome Greene Hall is located on 116th on the east side of Amsterdam.
