Flags Fly at Half-staff, Moment of Silence for Virginia Tech

On Monday, April 16, Columbia President Lee Bollinger wrote to Virginia Tech President Steger expressing the profound condolences of the Columbia community to the students and parents, faculty and staff of Virginia Tech.

On Tuesday, April 17, Columbia's flags were flown at half-staff.

Columbia students held a candlelight vigil on College Walk April 18 in memory of those who were lost and in support of the injured survivors at Virginia Tech.

On Friday, April 20, the Columbia community observed a moment of silence to remember the victims.

The entire Columbia University community mourns the loss of these individuals and we send our prayers and condolences to their friends and families and to all the students, staff and faculty at Virginia Tech.
