Physical Therapists Can Offer Exercises to Stem the Deterioration of MS, Says Ellen Costello

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurologic disease that affects people ages 15 to 50, says Ellen Costello, assistant professor of clinical physical therapy. Symptoms include muscle weakness and coordination, balance and sensory difficulties. For those suffering from MS, Costello recommends consulting a physical therapist who can suggest exercises to ward off deterioration and update the exercise program if symptoms increase.
