Ground Zero Memorial Must Resonate With Future Generations Who Have No Memory of Sept. 11 Attacks, Says Hilary Ballon
Hilary Ballon, chair of the art history and archaeology department, says a memorial built at Ground Zero must resonate with and communicate to future generations, who have no memory of the September 11 attacks because they did not witness them. The topic also will be covered in Daniel Libeskind's "Monument and Memory," the first lecture in the Art in Society Seminar, on Fri., Sept. 27, 6-8 p.m. at the New-York Historical Society.
