Children of Mothers Working Full-Time in the First Year of Life Show Lower Cognitive, Verbal Development
Full-time employment by mothers by the ninth month of their child's life is associated with poorer cognitive and verbal development for these children at age three, says Teachers College Professor Jeanne Brooks-Gunn, referring to the findings of a study conducted by professors at Columbia Teachers College and Columbia's School of Social Work.
