Farrah Griffin Discusses the Importance of Transnational Comparative Analyses of Race in African American Studies

According to Farah Jasmine Griffin, the new director of the Institute for Research in African-American Studies, it would be "narrow-minded and very narrow-focused of us to think that U.S.-based studies of race are the only ways to understand what it means to be black in the new world." Griffin also discusses the goals and numerous strengths of the Institute.
