The Center for Educational Outreach & Innovation and the Film and Education Research Academy (FERA) co-sponsor The Citizen Project, a campus talk show featuring film, video and dialogue. Following the huge success of the show's first offering, creators John Broughton, Teachers College assistant professor of psychology and education, and doctoral candidate Kelvin Shawn Sealey now present "Bodies in Motion, Images of Women in Contemporary Film & Video." In the following interviews, Broughton and Sealey outline what to expect from the next episode, which focuses on what it is to be feminine in film and includes noted feminist author bell hooks, activist/author Gloria Steinem and peace activist Hyun Kyung Chung, also a professor of theology. On Nov. 3 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the show, which is free to the public, will be held and filmed in Miller Theatre, located at 116th and Broadway. FERA is in the forefront of finding ways to merge contemporary cultural studies, particularly film, with traditional K–12 classroom pedagogy.
