Olu Dara, master of the blues, legend of the free-jazz movement and father of aclaimed hip-hop artist Nas, will bring his soulful dance and blues groove to the Studio Museum in Harlem on Tuesday, April 24 at 8:00 p.m. The concert, Blues Up and Down, from the Mississippi Mud to the Avant-garde: the Olu Dara Band, is the latest installment of the Columbia/Harlem Jazz Project, a two-year concert series.

The series is co-produced by Columbia’s Center for Jazz Studies, along with New Heritage Theater Group and Community Works.
