Art Garfunkel Receives Award from Varsity Show

On April 29, the Columbia University Varsity Show presented the third annual I.A.L. Diamond Award for Achievement in the Arts to Art Garfunkel, CC'62, GSAS'65. The award was presented during the group's 112th annual spring performance, held April 28-30. The Varsity Show, which brings together actors from Columbia and Barnard College each spring to parody life at the University, was founded in 1894 and boasts such alumni as Richard Rogers, CC'23; Oscar Hammerstein, CC'16; Lorenz Hart, CC'18; and Terrence McNally, CC'60. The award is named for Isadore A.L. Diamond, CC '41, who wrote the screenplays for Some Like It Hot and The Apartment.
