Looking Ahead

The 1998-99 year completed a decade at Columbia in which growing financial resources and further academic advances increasingly reinforced each other, adding to the University's strength. Fostering that mutual reinforcement is a central goal of the University administration, one that is greatly facilitated by both the forward momentum in Columbia's academic programs and the sound financial performance of the past five years. An ongoing financial program that continues to combine prudent fiscal management with investment in academic excellence will play a critical role in reaching that goal.
