Industry Leaders and Academics Look to the Future of Textile Manufacturing in New York
With gains in productivity and job losses overseas, employment in the textile and apparel industries in the United States has decreased 15 percent since 1997. Academics and industry leaders joined together for a discussion on reviving textile manufacturing in New York and examining trade policies. The event was sponsored by the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Columbia Business School.
