Middle East Inst./ICRP Lecture: U.S.-Syrian Relations Given to Periods of Conflict and Cooperation

Although Syrian-U.S. relations have been on a descent since the 1980's, Murhaf Jouejati a resident scholar at Washington, D.C.'s, Middle East Institute, characterized the descent as "non-linear," given to periods of conflict and periods of cooperation. During the Dec. 12 lecture, co-sponsored by SIPA's Middle East Institute and International Conflict Resolution Program (ICRP), Jouejati said that a cooperative and stable relationship is possible which would be in the interest of all in the Middle East, including Israel.
