Technology Bridges Gap Between Science and Mental Health Care Service, Says CUSSW Visiting Scholar Insel

Thomas Insel, director of the National Institute of Mental Health, discusses the current state of mental health and mental health care in America as well as his findings on the strikingly high rates of depression and suicide in our society. Technology, says Insel, will play a critical role in 21st century mental health care, helping to bridge the gap between science and service. Insel is one of the School of Social Work's Distinguished Visiting Scholars. This lecture is part of a series that brings renowned national and international scholars and experts from other disciplines to the School to discuss the implications of advances in their disciplines for social work.
