Associate General Counsel
Karen Y. Hui joined the Office of the General Counsel in 2005 as Assistant General Counsel. Her practice focuses on intellectual property and licensing as a member of the Patent & Licensing Group. Prior to coming to Columbia, Ms. Hui was an Associate at the law firm Stroock & Stroock & Lavan in the intellectual property group from 2003 to 2005. She also worked as an Associate at the international law firm Perkins Coie (2001-2003) and as an Associate in intellectual property at the law firm Senniger, Powers, Leavitt & Roedel (1998-2001).
Ms. Hui received a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Marquette University in 1994. She then went on to law school at Washington University in St. Louis, where she earned her J.D. in 1998. She is admitted to practice law in New York, California and Missouri, as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
