Associate General Counsel
Susan M. Marotta joined the Office of the General Counsel in June 2007 as Associate General Counsel practicing in the area of Health Sciences, including regulatory, contracts and litigation matters relating to Columbia University Medical Center and its faculty practice groups. Previously, Ms. Marotta served as Assistant General Counsel for HIP Health Plan of New York (2003-2007), Senior Attorney at Gentiva Health Services, Inc. (2000-2002), and Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (1998-2000). Prior to specializing in healthcare law, she was a litigator at Anderson Kill & Olick, P.C. (1989-1998).
Ms. Marotta earned her B.S. in Human Development & Family Studies from Cornell University (1985). She received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law (1989), where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Fordham Moot Court Board. She later earned an M.S. in Health Policy & Management from NYU's Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service (1999). She is admitted to practice in New York State, and before the United States District Courts for Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
