LAURIE MCFADDEN
Associate General Counsel
Laurie McFadden joined the Office of the General Counsel in January 2006 as Assistant General Counsel. She provides advice in the areas of development and charitable giving. Previously, she worked as a Special Project Attorney for the Office of the General Counsel (2004-2005). In addition, Ms. McFadden has worked as Assistant Counsel for the Metropolitan Museum of Art (2004), as an Associate practicing non-profit law in the Law Offices of Pamela A. Mann (2000-2003), as well as an Associate in the Exempt Organizations Group at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler (1999-2000). Prior to practicing law, she was an Art Historian and College Lecturer in England and Wales and served as the Advertising Art Director for the fine art magazine, Art & Auction.
Ms. McFadden earned her B.A. in Art History from the University of Michigan, where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1972. In 1974, she received a Masters Degree in Art History from the University of London, Courtauld Institute of Art. She earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1999, graduating magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. She is admitted to practice law in New York State.
