EDWARD A. SILVER
Associate General Counsel
Ed Silver rejoined the Office of the General Counsel as Associate General Counsel in January 2006, practicing in the areas of general contracts and purchasing, sponsored research focusing on clinical trials, and corporate and academic governance. He formerly held this position at Columbia from 1990 to 1995. In 1995, Ed joined the legal department of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the lead attorney for the Midwest consulting region. Following an acquistion of the consulting practice by IBM in 2002, Mr. Silver was a lead attorney for IBM's Financial Services Sector, and was later promoted to Manager of Global Contracts Development. He started his career as a corporate associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore (1984-1988), and later as a litigation associate at Morrison & Foerster (1988-1990).
Mr. Silver received his undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa in the Social Sciences from Stony Brook in 1980, and his J.D. from New York University in 1984. He is admitted to practice law in New York State.
