Overview

The department offers two different M.A. programs and a Ph.D. program in which the M.A. and M.Phil degrees are earned sequentially. The M.A. programs are primarily intended for those who wish to develop and advance competence in philosophy without going on to the Ph.D. degree; should a candidate wish to enter the Ph.D. program, a new application must be submitted. The M.A. programs can be pursued part-time for a maximum of eight semesters; Ph.D. candidates must enroll full-time.

Director of Graduate Studies: Professor Achille Varzi, 702 Philosophy Hall
