Congratulations to Jason Bello on his selection for a 2008 Rhodes
Scholarship. The scholarships, the oldest of the international
study awards available to American students, provide two or three years
of study at Oxford University in England. The thirty-two 2008
Rhodes Scholars were selected from 764 applicants endorsed by 294
colleges and universities.
Mr. Bello, who majors in political
science and economics with a minor in linguistics, will undertake an
M.Phil. in comparative government at Oxford. His particular
interest is in democracy studies, especially how democracy flourishes
or flounders as a result of new technologies.
