Biography
Justin H. Phillips (Ph.D., UC San Diego, 2005) studies American politics and political economy with a focus on state and urban politics. He has published articles in the American Journal of Political Science, American Politics Research, and Urban Studies. His current research analyzes the effects of interjurisdictional competition, electoral outcomes, direct democracy, and budgetary institutions on state tax policy.
