March, 1993 Postcrypt Schedule

Postcrypt Coffeehouse

March, 1993

Friday, February 26-------------------------------------
OPEN STAGE - Folk, blues, bluegrass, jazz, reggae - you name it! We
also welcome poets, storytellers, actors, comics, and performers of
all kinds. Performances start at 9:00, sign-up is at 8:45. Two song
  limit.

Saturday, February 27-----------------------------------
POETRY NIGHT - A night of poetry featuring Susan Casey, Lidy Chu, and
Melinda Kay. Bring your poetry for an open reading at approximately
10:30PM (after the scheduled readers). Sign up is at 8:30.

Friday, March 5 -------- CELEBRATE WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
AMY FIX AND SAM FENSTER - Amy sings about healing from incest and being
a life-loving, tree-climbing dyke. She is accompanied by guitarist and
  co-arranger Sam Fenster.
ILENE WEISS - An underrecognized singer-songwriter, Ilene sings songs
which reflect unblinking honesty and careful attention to detail - with
  a twist.
JANE HOHENBERGER - A performance poet comes to the Postcrypt stage...
HILLARY KAY - This folksinger plays around NYC, and we're always happy
  to have her back!

Saturday, March 6--------------------------------------
BEVERLY GREENFIELD - Postcrypt's former emcee and a great
  singer-songwriter - be there!
THE LOW ROAD - An eclectic five-piece ensemble from Philadelphia that
will win you over with their romantic, bluesy, acoustic sound!

Friday, March 12 - Saturday, March 20------------------
Closed for Spring Break.

Friday, March 26---------------------------------------
LILI ANEL - She was spotted at the Greenwich Village Folk Festival
last year, and we welcome her back to her second Postcrypt performance.
She used to play at Folk City, and we're glad to have her!
ANSEL MATTHEWS - We heard him at an open stage, and we just had to
invite him back! Ansel is a great guitarist with an exceptional voice.
He often plays at the Bitter End.

Saturday, March 27-------------------------------------
GREG GREENWAY - The Boston Globe says his New England performer is
"unassuming yet extremely appealing." Greg articulates his energy and
  social consciousness in his songs.
QUAY & O'CONOR - You might have caught them at Postcrypt or Furnald
Folkfest last year - they're a harmonious duo who sing all kinds of
  great originals.
DAVID HAMBURGER - A man with a caffeine-induced hair fetish, David is
an excellent guitarist with the wittiest lyrics! Don't miss him.
