February-March, 1994 Postcrypt Schedule
Postcrypt Coffeehouse
February-March, 1994
Friday, February 4______________________________________________
DAVE CROSSLAND - Originally from Ohio but currently based in the
Boston area, Dave is a solid acoustic guitarist and has an
expressive and tender voice. He has shared the stage with Nanci
Griffith and Richie Havens.
DAR WILLIAMS - Also based in Boston, Dar first graced our stage
as a surprise opener during one of our recording nights this
past fall. Welcome her excellent voice and guitar playing!
JIM INFANTINO - Jim gives an edgy, bizarre performance,
neighboring on comedy but not satire. Rounding out our night of
Boston-based singer-songwriters, Jim has become a Postcrypt
favorite. He also wears a really big pair of pants.
Saturday, February 5______________________________________________
JIM ALLEN - With songs that incorporate a blues-based melodic
sensibility with often surrealistic lyricism, Jim has brought
his raw and inventive style to appreciative audiences throughout
the Northeast. He has appeared on several Fast Folk recordings.
CHRISTIAN BAUMAN - Chris is traveling up from Fort Eustis, VA to
revisit the 'Crypt. Intelligent lyrics that cut straight to the
heart and solid guitar sounds make Christian a must-see!
RAYMOND GONZALEZ AND AMY MALKOFF - Ray and Amy have just
released their debut CD, "On The Water." They also appeared on
Christine Lavin's "When October Goes" compilation.
Friday, February 11______________________________________________
CAROL LIPNIK with JOE CACCIOLA - Carol brings more of her
haunting songs from Coney Island in her return to the Postcrypt
stage.
DAVE'S TRUE STORY - Vocalist Kelly Flint and guitar-player David
Cantor just released their debut album and will be recording
live for their next release.
Saturday, February 12______________________________________________
RACHEL POLISHER - Rachel has proven her singing and songwriting
skills on the stage of Ben & Jerry's Newport Folk Festival.
We're looking forward for her long-awaited return to our stage!
GREG GREENWAY - Greg is a Boston-based singer-songwriter whose
acclaim is spreading quickly. He's become a regular at such
esteemed venues as Passim, the Old Vienna Kaffeehaus, and now
the Postcrypt!
THE WICOMICOS - This duo of Carmen Yates (guitar/vocals) and
Mikel Campbell (bass/vocals) hails originally from the eastern
shore of Maryland, but is now based in New York. They bring
their unique brand of urban folk to the Postcrypt in their
debut!
Friday, February 18______________________________________________
JOHN HERALD - John performs a combination of bluegrass, folk,
Cajun, country, and sparkling original songs! His first band,
The Greenbriar Boys, played the Grand Ole Opry and toured with
Joan Baez. We're glad to welcome him back to the 'Crypt!
Saturday, February 19____________________________________________
TED KESLER - Ted used to run the Postcrypt himself - now it's a
lucky treat to have him on our stage, telling stories and
singing songs, tin-whistling and guitar-picking...always full of
surprises!
QUAY & O'CONOR - Their special harmonies and images make this
duo a frequent presence on our stage. Be sure to catch their
original and melodic tunes.
RICHARD JULIAN - Rich's song "Ghost of a Girl" is one of the
highlights of the Fast Folk Live at the Postcrypt Coffeehouse
compact disk. His folk-rock songs are definitely worth catching.
Friday, February 25______________________________________________
BAR SCOTT - Bar used to build houses in Philadelphia, but now
makes her living as a singer-songwriter in Woodstock, NY. Her
most recent CD, "Silence is Broken," has received worldwide
acclaim.
DAVID HAMBURGER - Not only is he an awesome guitar-player and
teacher, but he's got a knack for lyrics that is uncanny and
will knock you over! David is frequently heard on Fast Folk
recordings, including the one recorded at the 'Crypt a few years
back.
Saturday, February 26____________________________________________
THE SIRENS - This acoustic folk-rock duo met as exchange
students in Paris. They've been together for five years and
covered four countries, performing their songs about life and
its many pleasures and challenges.
LISA LOEB - She usually plays with her band, Nine Stories, so
catching her solo is a special event. Her amazing voice
completely fills the room, and a brief listen to her songs will
explain her large New York City following.
Friday, March 4__________________________________________________
PETER SALETT - This NYC-based performer plays acoustic guitar
with a unique flatpicking style. He also spent two years in
Alaska, where he honed his songwriting craft.
DONNA MARTIN - Donna's pensive and soulful singing and
songwriting have made her a favorite at the Falcon Ridge Folk
Festival for the past two years. Welcome her for her Postcrypt
debut!
PETER KEANE - Peter brings us his solid country/blues with his
remarkably good voice. This Boston-based singer-songwriter also
performed at our anniversary recording sessions this past fall.
ANDREW VLADECK - Columbia's own (class of '92) folk and blues
man may surprise us with a banjo, along with his old guitar and
harmonica. He's sure to pack the house!

it! We also welcome poets, storytellers, actors, comics, and
