Closed for Election Day weekend.
Gregg Cagno -- Greg is a singer/songwriter/guitarist based in Hoboken, NJ, who has appeared on several Fast Folk recordings.
Christian Bauman -- Christian's songs have been covered by Postcrypt favorites Eddy Lawrence, Jack Hardy, and Wendy Beckerman, and he has appeared on several Fast Folk albums. He has a CD, Out Here in the Perimeter, which will be available at the show.
5 Chinese Brothers -- They're not Chinese, and they're not brothers, but this quintet has developed a cult following in their 12 years of playing at the Postcrypt. Their debut album Singer, Songwriter, Beggarman, Thief has received rave reviews in Rolling Stone, CMJ, and Newsday.
Quay & O'Conor -- Acoustic duo Heather Quay and Lyn O'Conor have a rare chemistry on stage that only thirteen years of friendship can create. Their songs tell stories of love lost, Catholic girls' school, and philandering relatives.
Todd Dorman -- Welcome this singer-songwriter for his Postcrypt debut.
Richard Meyer -- The former editor of Fast Folk Musical Magazine, Richard has been active as both a performer and a producer in the Greenwich Village scene for over ten years. Dirty Linen says his songs "blend folk-pop sensitivity with a hard-hitting New York potency."
Open Stage -- Folk, blues, bluegrass, jazz, reggae you name it! We also welcome poets, storytellers, actors, comics, and performers of all kinds. Performances start at 9:00; sign-up begins promptly at 8:45. Eight to ten minute limit.
Ilene Weiss -- Ilene's performances capture the full range of her sometimes quirky and always insightful songwriting. She also wears a really cool pair of sneakers!
Dorothy Scott -- It's a rare treat to have Dorothy down at the Postcrypt, since lately she's been touring extensively in Europe. When she's in the country, she can often be seen performing at clubs such as Sin-e and Fez. She released a new CD, Into the Natural, last spring.
Closed for Thanksgiving weekend.
Jane Kelly Williams -- Jane will charm you with her beautiful voice, skilled guitar playing, and sincere songwriting. Her major-label debut, Tapping the Wheel, came out this spring.
Paul Clements -- Paul plays at many clubs around the city. We first heard his skilled guitar playing and clever songs at the Postcrypt open stage in September. We've heard great things about him, excited to have him at the 'Crypt.
Wendy Beckerman -- Originally from New Jersey, Wendy has been an active part of New York's acoustic scene for several years. She has recorded several songs for Fast Folk including "I'll Cry Tonight" on 1992's Live at the Postcrypt CD.
Ted Kesler -- Ted used to run the Postcrypt himself -- now it's a lucky treat to have him on our stage, telling stories and singing songs, fiddling, tin-whistling and guitar-picking ... he's always full of surprises!
Jim Gaudet -- Jim started his career as flat picker and mandolin player, but now sings and strums his guitar. A regular at Albany's respected Caffe Lena, Jim's return engagement at the Postcrypt is always a crowd pleaser.
Dave's True Story -- This duo of vocalist Kelly Flint and guitarist David Cantor combines the joyous innocence of the '40s with a deadpan contemporary irony that perfectly captures the '90s. Vin Scelsa has called their music "wonderful stuff...reminiscent of Cole Porter."
