Quick Reference Guide

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs was created, in part, to provide administrative support to postdocs, faculty and administrators in all facets of a postdoc’s experience while at Columbia.  We hope to be a starting point to identify resources available to you for the hiring of your postdoc, the resolution of any problems that you may have, and also, of course, a resource for your postdoc. Please do not hesitate to contact Beth Israel, Associate Vice President of Postdoctoral Affairs at postdocaffairs@columbia.edu, 305-4073 or 854-6846 if you have any questions or concerns with respect to your postdocs. Also, please note that many useful documents may be found on our website at http://www.columbia.edu/cu/postdocs.  We present here a Quick Reference Guide that we trust will be helpful to you.

Checklists
Three checklists have been prepared to help faculty, administrators and postdocs.  These include checklists for when:

a.  Your postdoc accepts your offer to come to Columbia;
b.  The postdoc arrives at Columbia on his or her first day; and
c.  A checklist to facilitate the appointment process.

Mentoring
