"Filling the Net: The Content Evolution" - New Media Event At Columbia's Journalism School, June 21

Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and CameraPlanet.com will host "Filling the Net: The Content Evolution,"a panel discussion and exhibition, on Wednesday, June 21, 2000. Free and open to the public, the program begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Journalism School's 3rd Floor Lecture Hall, Broadway and 116th Street in New York.

The keynote address at 6 p.m. will be presented by Douglas Rushkoff, author, syndicated columnist and NPR commentator, and professor at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program. Participants in the panel discussion that follows include Karl Idsvoog, managing producer, APB News.com; Ann Kirschner, president and CEO, Fathom; Jon Klein, president and CEO, Feedroom; Elizabeth Osder, general manager, IXL Media and Entertainment Practice, and Steve Rosenbaum, president and CEO, CameraPlanet.com. The discussion will focus on "content" in the interactive age, and will likely include conversations about directions in online content, particularly online news, and both problems and opportunities. How content online is or will be different than content, including news, in the traditional media world, will also be addressed.

A reception and exhibition, scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., will feature displays by APB News,com, Be Here Corp., Remote Reality, CameraPlanet.com, Feedroom, iMove, MetaStream, and Witness.
