LDEO Open House:
Earth Science from Local Dinosaurs to the Origins of Earthquakes
An Open House on Saturday, October 7th, at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, New York, will explore the many wonders of Earth Science, including:
the origins and predictability of earthquakes
the life of dinosaurs in New York and New Jersey
the uses of seismology
the effects of El Niño and La Niña
the results of global climate change
the stories embedded in tree rings, corals and deep-sea sediment cores
the condition of the Hudson River
and other timely, engaging issues.
