Women's Cross-Country Wins
Second-Straight Metropolitan Intercollegiate Title;
Men Finish Second

Taking four of the top-five finishes, Columbia's women's cross-country team (10/6) won the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Cross-Country Championships held in Van Cortlandt Park, the Bronx. Leading the Lions were sophomore Lauren Harrison (18:21.7), first-year Caitlan Hickin (18:24.4), sophomore Elizabeth Burke (18:31), and sophomore Haley Acre (18:35.2), who finished behind Rutgers' Julie Culley (18:12.1) in the 3.1-mile run. The victory gave Columbia its second consecutive Metropolitan Intercollegiate title.

The Columbia men's cross-country team finished second behind Fairleigh Dickinson. Sophomore John Garvie (25:40.9) and first-year Steve Sundell (25:41.7) finished third and fourth to pace the Lions in the 5-mile run.
