Morningside Heights Stepping Out

The Morningside Heights section of Manhattan will roll out the red carpet on Sunday, May 5, when the Presidents of the educational and religious institutions located there step out to launch a new neighborhood walking tour guide. The Presidents will lead the way for out-of-town visitors and native New Yorkers alike who will be welcomed at buildings of great architectural and historic significance, decorated for the day with balloons and signs, such as Columbia University, St. John the Divine, Riverside Church and Grant's Tomb.

The Morningside Heights Walking Tour brochure is produced by the Morningside Area Alliance, a membership organization of educational, religious, and cultural institutions located in Morningside Heights. With publication of this guide, and a companion poster, it has launched an effort to attract more tourists to this rich and diverse part of the City. The Morningside Heights Walking Tour brochure with its map of Morningside Heights, self-guided tour and descriptions of the institutions will be available at the institutions or by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Morningside Area Alliance, 90 Morningside Drive, New York, NY 10027.

Morningside Heights is bordered to the east and west by Morningside and Riverside Parks, respectively, and to the north and south by 125th and 110th Sts.
