NATO Secretary General Javier Solana will discusss the expansion of NATO in a speech at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University on Tuesday, July 29. The media is invited to cover the speech at 10 A.M. in the Kellogg Conference Center, 15th floor of the International Affairs Building, 420 West 118th Street at Amsterdam Avenue. Please call this office if you plan to cover. Dr. Solana is in the United States to meet with government leaders, including Defense Secretary William Cohen and Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott and members of Congress and to speak on NATO issues to a number of institutions and bodies. His trip follows the recent summit of NATO members which approved the most sweeping changes to the alliance since its founding in 1949.
