David Kang is the current president of the Political Science Students Association. During the academic year, he will be writing a senior honors thesis this year in political science with a special focus on American voter turnout. David is looking forward to graduating this year and is trying to work abroad before applying to law school in the future.
Jordan Freisleben is a senior in Columbia College originally from Los Angeles, CA. She is majoring in political science and concentrating in history. While at Columbia, she has interned for the New York City Mayor’s Office, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. After graduation, she plans to work in the legal department of a financial services institution before hopefully attending law school. In her spare time she enjoys visiting every art museum and gallery New York has to offer, seeing movies, doing yoga, and trying different types of food around the city.
Jessica Swanson is current Secretary of PSSA. She is a sophomore in Columbia College from suburban Pennsylvania. She majors in Human Rights with a focus on Political Science and minors in Art History. She enjoys working on interdisciplinary events bringing together a variety of issues and departments in dialogue. When she can escape the beautiful city of New York, she enjoys hiking and backpacking.
McKenzie Fritz is a Sophomore at Barnard College majoring in Political Science and Human Rights with a minor in German Studies. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa, when McKenzie isn't watching the Pittsburgh Penguins' hockey games she can be found working and writing as Editor in Chief of The Fed--Columbia University's satirical news magazine.
America Garza is a sophomore at Barnard College declaring a combined major in Political Science and Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies. She is a native Angelino, of California, who is excited to be working with the PSSA executive board this semester. She is particularly invested in equalizing the presence of Barnard College's political science department at PSSA events.
Peter Kalicki is a freshman in Columbia College from Washington, D.C., planning to major in Political Science and Economics. He enjoys movies, running in Central Park, and classic rock, and is looking forward to exploring Political Science through PSSA.
Gabby Levy is a sophomore in Columbia College from suburban Massachusetts, planning to major in Political Science with a dual concentration in Human Rights and Hispanic Studies. She is particularly interested in civil rights. Outside of the political sphere, she loves photography and listens to music constantly, even if she is wholly unable to produce any of her own.
Ingrid Vatamanu is a junior at Barnard College originally from Romania. She is majoring in Political Science, specifically concentrating on International Relations and French. She is looking forward to helping the Political Science Students Association foster their relationship with Barnard College.
Jamie Withorne is currently a First Year student at Columbia College. She hopes to major in Political Science, specifically focusing on International Relations. She loves being a part of the Political Science Student Association's Board because it is a great community and a great way to further explore the major.
Angela Xia is a freshman in Columbia College planning on majoring in political science and human rights. She enjoys sketch comedy, exploring different New York parks and landmarks, and adding to her record collection. A newcomer to the field of political science, she is excited to learn and grow through PSSA.
