Upload:

1. save your file in the "guests save files here" folder.
2. go to the apple menu, open "Fetch," and enter your user ID and password
3. a new window will appear which shows the contents of your public_html directory
4. click "Put file"
5. select your file from the "guests save files here" folder on the desktop and click "open" and then "ok"
6. your file should now appear in fetch in your public_html directory
7. select your file by clicking on it once
8. go to "Remote," "Set Permissions..." and then check all of the leftmost, topmost, and rightmost boxes (this gives everyone permission to read and execute your file while also giving you permission to write/change it)

NOTE: Setting the permissions properly is particularly important if you want to be able to view an html file online. Unless everyone has permission to read the html file - you will be unable to view it online.

Download:

1. go to the apple menu, open "Fetch," and enter your user ID and password
2. a new window will appear which shows the contents of your public_html directory
3. select the file you want to download by clicking on it once
4. click "Get file"
5. the file will be downloaded to the desktop
